MAIN GOAL
The Content Officer, as part of the Communications and Public Engagement Team, is responsible for working with the LAC platform team and external service providers to plan, produce, curate and share content in support of Latin America's campaigns and programs, in audiovisual formats: layouts, photos, videos and other related formats. This content can be used:
- With the work of in-country, regional and/or affiliated media, digital and social channels.
- To attract, convert, inform and retain supporters and nurture our relationship with institutional donors.
- To nurture and strengthen our fundraising and influencing work and build Oxfam's brand profile.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mapping, filtering and prioritizing content needs of LAC countries as well as interested affiliates
- Design, under parameters of the strategy and political vision, various graphic materials for social media, website, support materials, etc.
- Assist internal teams to achieve greater clarity in their communication briefs
- Commission work from external consultants and develop clear written briefs, terms of reference and contracts for photographers, videographers, filmmakers, interpreters, translators, talent agencies, music licensing companies, etc.
- Identify and research opportunities for compiling compelling stories in LAC
- Design, lead and manage content gathering projects in the region, including all related logistics, including risk and relationship management
- Act as a creative producer for video projects, from idea to storyboarding, script writing and coordinating the shooting, editing and post-production process
- Interviewing the people we work with, staff and local partners about the challenges they face and the impact of Oxfam's work on their lives
- Liaise with other staff members for relevant program information.
- Take high quality photos for use online and in printed materials.
- Write interviews and reports from your trips
- Edit photos and videos
- Gathering content in the first hours of a major emergency in the region
- Support in-country communications managers in producing their own content, gradually transferring your skills in content planning, photography, videography, and writing
- Upload collections of stories to a database of available content in LAC, curate it and keep it up to date l
- Act as the local focal point for Oxfam's digital asset management in the region, working closely with the global DAM manager.

Minimum requirements
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- In-depth knowledge of what makes content strong and engaging, and how it is leveraged to engage different audiences.l
- Demonstrated knowledge and professional experience in film and photo content production, including photo and video editing.
- Strong knowledge of the use of current platforms and the requirements for creating and optimizing content on each platform.
- Project management experience in a communications context, with a track record of delivering high quality communications products on time, on budget and according to brief.
- Demonstrated experience in gathering compelling first-person testimony through interviews.
- Excellent skills in design, photography and strategic vision.
- Strong planning, time management, influencing, organization and project management skills in teams working remotely, under virtual modality
- Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to build credibility and strong cooperative relationships with key stakeholders, and to work collaboratively with other teams to deliver results.
- Knowledge/interest in Latin American social and political context and development issues.
- Knowledge of design and audiovisual production software, Adobe Suite.

- Experience of travelling to or working in challenging places or circumstances and working with different cultures.
